Harris County criminal court judge Frank Aguilar killed in crash on Houston’s south side, sources confirm

HOUSTON, TexasHarris County Criminal Court Judge Frank Aguilar was killed in a car crash Sunday afternoon, multiple sources confirmed with KPRC 2 Investigates.

The crash happened on the feeder road near Holly Hall around 4:30 p.m.

Aguilar’s vehicle reportedly hit a pole and he was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Aguilar, who oversaw the 228th Criminal District Court, was previously the judge presiding over the state’s case against Gerald Goines and others in the deadly Harding Street raid. Judge Veronica Nelson replaced him.

Following his death, the Harris County Community Supervision and Corrections Department stated on Facebook that they were saddened to hear about the Judge’s death:

All of us at CSCD are saddened to hear the loss of District Court Judge Frank Aguilar. Rest in Peace your Honor. Our thoughts are with your family and staff.
