HOUSTON – Meet Scout, featured on this week’s KPRC 2 Pet Project! Every week, KPRC 2 and the Houston Humane Society spotlight an adoptable pet.

According to the shelter, Scout is a 2-year-old American Staffordshire terrier. He’s been at the shelter for more than 100 days. But before his stay with HHS, the shelter said Scout had a difficult life.

The HHS reports Scout was found nearly frozen to death, but overcame all the odds and is now thriving. Despite being subjected to animal cruelty, the shelter says Scout “loves affection and loves to give kisses.”

We’re also told Scout has never met a stranger and enjoys playing with kids and other dogs. Scout is always ready to go for a walk, but if you prefer an chill afternoon watching TV or reading a book, Scout also likes lounging around the house. He’s the perfect fit for big families!
