The search for 16-year-old Aniesha, a teenager from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, has now expanded to Houston’s Magnolia Park neighborhood.

Aniesha’s mother, Jill Finnie, is distraught and desperate for answers, describing the situation as completely out of character for her daughter.

“She’s never even been on a Greyhound bus or traveled alone before,” Finnie shared. “My daughter suffers from serious mental health issues, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and severe depression. She’s out of all of her medication right now. I just can’t understand how she ended up in Houston.”

With no known ties to the Houston area, the family believes someone may have lured or convinced Aniesha to leave.

“I don’t know who she could have been talking to,” Finnie said tearfully. “She has no reason to be in Texas, and we have no family there. She’s very trusting and would easily fall prey to someone’s promises.”

Houston police believe Aniesha may still be in the area of Harrisburg Boulevard near Eastwood. Community members are urged to keep an eye out and report any sightings immediately. Aniesha is described as 5′11″ with a septum piercing, and curly brown hair worn in a natural afro style. She was last seen wearing jean shorts and a sweatshirt tied around her waist.

Aniesha’s mother is particularly concerned about Aniesha’s mental state without her medications, noting that Aniesha has previously been hospitalized four times this year for her condition.

“She’s very unstable right now,” Finnie explained. “The last time she went to school, she had scratches on her face, and when I asked her about it, she said she’d done it herself. She even told a friend she’d scratched her face with a knife. That’s how bad things were before she left.”

Finnie added that Aniesha’s mental health issues make her even more susceptible to dangerous situations.

“She’s very trusting and would easily fall for someone’s lies,” Finnie said. “She’s just so naïve—my daughter blindly trusts anybody. That’s what scares me the most.”

The lack of urgency from the police in Pennsylvania has left the family feeling helpless and isolated.

“We just want our daughter home. If someone sees her, I hope they call the police. She’s vulnerable and alone,” Finnie pleaded. “Even if she’s scared, we just want to know she’s safe.”

Anyone with information about Aniesha’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Lancaster City Police at 717-735-3300, HPD at 713-884-3131 or call 911.

Her family is desperately seeking any leads that could help bring Aniesha back home.
