Family members say Johnson was on his way to Katy to pick up his girlfriend when he was shot. Deputies said the teen was found outside of his parked car, unresponsive with gunshot wounds.

The HCSO is now asking for the public’s help in finding his killer. They will hold a news conference Friday at 9 a.m. KPRC 2 will livestream the event.

Since the shooting, no witnesses have come forward, but deputies believe it may have seemed from a road rage incident. Detectives do not have a description of the shooter but are asking anyone with any information to come forward.

“We need answers. He was one of the lights of the world that you don’t see often. The world lost an incredible, incredible kid,” said Mike Johnson.

Johnson’s family said he lived in Missouri City and graduated from Ridge Point High School in the spring. He was supposed to start his new job on Tuesday. He also had a black 2011 Camaro with gold rims that he loved.

“Just asking you as his mom, justice for my baby is just, anybody knows anything. He was the best kid,” Juneau said.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.
