On Saturday, a press release by SPD identified the victim as 23-year-old Mary Jane Collins.

Due to concerns that the suspect might still be inside, SWAT was called to assist in securing the area.

Officials said residents who live at the complex were asked to remain inside with their doors locked until the scene has been secured and deemed safe. SWAT team members conducted a thorough search of the apartment, but the suspect was not found.

Later Friday night, residents were told it was safe to return home.

At this time, officers are still working to determine the identity of the suspect and are continuing their investigation. They indicated that their findings suggested that the suspect knew Collins.
