A Houston woman and a man have been arrested and charged in connection with the death of their five-month-old child who suffered from severe injuries due to repeated abuse.
Jasmine Marie Ellison, 28, and Glenn Wayne Smith, 30, face charges of injury to a child causing serious bodily injury.

Court records reveal horrifying details of the infant’s condition, which included bleeding on the brain, blood coming out of her mouth, and both recent and healed broken ribs.
The abuse reportedly continued over several days, from Thursday through Sunday, ultimately resulting in the child’s death.
Ellison’s bond is set at $150,000, while Smith’s bond is set at $1,000,000 due to the severe nature of the allegations.
Prosecutors stated that Smith’s actions caused “shearing injuries” to the baby’s brain, consistent with violent shaking. The child remained in a vegetative state until she succumbed to her injuries.
