HOUSTON – Imagine you’re at the checkout line, ready to pay for your groceries, when you realize—you’ve left your card at home. Sounds like a hassle, right? Well, those days are coming to an end as one of Texas’ favorite grocers goes digital!
H-E-B is rolling out its long-awaited tap-to-pay services across all its stores. Starting October 7, customers can enjoy the convenience of using Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Google Pay at select flagship locations. Over the next few weeks, H-E-B will continue a phased rollout, gradually introducing tap-to-pay options across all its Texas stores.

The service will first launch in the San Antonio area, where it will take about a week to be fully implemented at every store. From there, the tap-to-pay rollout will expand across Texas, including Mi Tienda stores in Houston.
While tap-to-pay won’t be available at fuel pumps just yet, customers can use the service at the fuel station payment windows.
“At H-E-B, we’re always exploring new technologies to enhance the shopping experience,” said Ashwin Nathan, H-E-B’s Group Vice President of Marketing and Payments. “This has been one of the most requested features from our customers and Partners, and we’re thrilled to bring this popular technology to all our locations.”
