CYPRESS, Texas – Cy-Fair ISD parents are demanding answers after about 3 students were hit by cars on the way to school.

According to letters to parents, obtained by KPRC 2′s Rilwan Balogun, the incidents happened on three separate occasions with different students but were a day apart.
In the first letter, dated Wednesday, October 2 a student at McGown Elementary was hit by a moving car while walking to school a little after 8 a.m. Cy-Fair ISD said its police department, including local law enforcement, campus administrators — as well as the student’s parents — rushed in to help and the child was taken to a hospital “as a precautionary measure.”
The next day, parents at Smith Middle School received a letter saying a student was hit by a moving car a little before 7:30 a.m. while they were riding their bicycle to school. The student was also rushed to a hospital for precaution and the child’s parent was notified.
It’s unclear when the third incident occurred but the district confirmed the child was hit when crossing the street to catch a bus.
KPRC 2 has reached out to Cy-Fair ISD for more information and the district replied by sharing a letter sent to parents last Friday regarding the accidents as well as safety tips they will be instilling for students, staff, and parents.
