HOUSTON – Investigators say a man died after he was hit by a car overnight in northwest Houston.

It happened around 2 a.m. when the Houston Police Department said officers with the Vehicular Crimes Division were called out to Hempstead near Hwy 290. That’s where they found a man dead in the street.

Based on preliminary evidence, police said it looked like the man was walking on the roadway when a driver hit him and kept on going.

There was no information shared on the vehicle, but police said they would be looking into surveillance cameras in the area and looking for any witnesses.
