The group drove to the Bellaire Police Department in an apparent attempt to avoid a confrontation.
However, as two Bellaire officers arrived on the scene to meet with the truck’s occupants, the woman circled around the truck and fired multiple shots at the front seat passenger, her ex-boyfriend, according to police.
One of the officers shot back at the woman as she continued to drive around the truck before fleeing westbound on Jessamine towards Chimney Rock.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, was shot multiple times. Officers provided immediate medical aid before he was taken to Ben Taub Hospital, where he remains in serious condition. No other injuries were reported.
The woman is still at large, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward. She was last seen driving a Mercedes SUV westbound from the scene.
Bellaire police are actively investigating the shooting and searching for the suspect, with names expected to be released today.
