Nearly 30 vehicles found charred following west Houston parking lot fire

HOUSTON – Authorities are looking into what caused a serious blaze in a west Houston parking lot where up to 30 vehicles were destroyed.

The Houston Fire Department says it was called to the 2400 block of Yorktown near Sage Rd. off 610 for reports of a car fire. However, when they arrived, saw nearly 20 vehicles burning.

While firefighters were putting out the flames, arson investigators said it appears the number might have been greater, with close to 30 vehicles charred. It’s unclear what caused the fire but HFD will be looking into what happened as part of their ongoing investigation.

This is a developing story and will continue to be updated as more information becomes available.
