What happened

On October 1, Bradric Kuykendall was in a car with other people and someone dumped trash on a road down the street from where the suspect was.

Kuykendall and Davis had some type of argument or altercation, according to police.

Kuykendall and the people he was with left and Davis followed them to a nearby gas station at Hillcroft and Airport Blvd in southwest Houston.

Police say Davis shot 32-year-old Kuykendall multiple times and then ran off.

Kuykendall was rushed to the hospital where he died.

“Shot him multiple times over nothing. It’s horrible,” said Letitia Kuykendall, Bradric’s mother. She told KPRC 2 that her son, who had his own landscaping business, was on his way to work that Tuesday morning.

“He’s gone too soon.”

Letitia says Brad was a very loving and kind-hearted young man, the type of person people naturally like because of his personality.

“He helped a lot of people. If anyone needed a job, he’d help them out,” she said.

“He had two kids that loved him, sisters, uncles, cousins who really wish he was still here.”

Bradric’s visitation is Friday night at Matthews Funeral Home in Wharton and his funeral and burial are Saturday.

Earthly departure came to soon for Bradric Lavelle Kuykendall, 32 of Wharton on Oct 1, 2024. Brad was born Nov 9, 1991...
