HOUSTON – Houston Police were called to a deadly crash Wednesday night on the city’s West side, where a man was hit by a car.
The deadly accident happened in the eastbound lanes of the Katy Freeway near Wilcrest Drive a little before 9:30 p.m. Investigators said (per a witness) an unidentified man intentionally walked in front of an oncoming vehicle on the freeway.

The eastbound lanes of the Katy Freeway were shut down as police investigated and confirmed that the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. However, at last check, the driver was detained because he was suspected of driving while intoxicated.
As of this writing, it’s unclear if the unidentified driver was arrested or released at the scene.
