Inmates facing additional charges after trying to escape from Harris County Jail

Two Harris County inmates are facing fresh charges after failed escape attempts that resulted in significant damage to the jail.

Benjamin David Walls allegedly attempted to escape from the Harris County Jail by moving from a secured area to the sally port.

He was originally jailed on two charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for threatening multiple people, including children, with a gun for allegedly refusing to play basketball with him.

Frankie Rosas, who was incarcerated for burglary of a habitation, attempted to escape by entering the ceiling panels of the jail and refusing to come down.

According to court documents, his actions caused significant damage to the jail, with losses estimated between $2,500 and $30,000.

Rosas now faces additional charges of criminal mischief and attempted escape.

Both men remain in custody.
