A Houston teenager who was wanted in connection to a fatal shooting two months ago is behind bars.
Cristian Gasca Martinez, 17, has been charged with murder in the shooting death of 37-year-old Osvaldo Casas.
The crime occurred at around 12:25 a.m. on Aug. 10 near a home located at 611 Loper St. in southeast Houston.
Officials with Houston Police Department responded to the residence shortly after the crime and found Casas unresponsive after suffering multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics responded and pronounced him dead at the scene.
Judith Molina, Casas’ wife who was eight months pregnant at the time, said that he had gone outside after receiving a call from a neighbor about a suspicious vehicle on their street. They were on high alert because their vehicle had been vandalized the night before. It is believed that Casas was shot while confronting the people in the vehicle.
Further investigation identified Gasca Martinez as the suspected shooter. On Thursday, Oct. 17, he was arrested without incident and booked into Harris County Jail.
