How dry weather in Houston area is impacting area farms

ALVIN, Texas – Dry, Crunchy & Brown: All words to describe the environment when in drought. And if you look outside, you can see the grass is slowly turning brown.

Why? It’s been 27 days without rain and 45 days without a significant amount (.25+) of rain.

So what does that mean for you and your family? Especially when it comes to produce. Will it cost you more? And how much? And what about the quality of the produce?

And what about our local farmers? How is the lack of rain playing a role in the bottom line?

So many questions to ask, ahead of a year that is predicted to get 40-60% below normal precipitation.
