Destin’s family continues to search for answers and has been vocal about their suspicions surrounding the person of interest in the case, who had been getting to know Destin in the weeks leading up to his disappearance.

As part of the ongoing investigation, Destin’s car was found several months after he vanished, but no significant leads have emerged to provide closure.

His mother, Lawana Shaw, has been relentless in her pursuit for answers, despite battling lung cancer.

“I continue to hold out hope for my son’s safe return and urge anyone who might know anything to come forward,” she said.
