HOUSTON – More than 1.5 million people have signed up in hopes to attend Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign rally in Houston this Friday, according to the registration website.

Two hours before the event, thousands lined up outside the Shell Energy Stadium and around the parking lot.

The Texas heat started to bare down on potential attendees. EMTs responded to the area, and the latest reports are saying that eight people were transported to nearby hospitals. Dozens more have independently reported heat-related issues.

Cooling busses were on site assisting with the winded individuals.

KPRC 2 captured video outside the stadium where Houston police were seen handing out cold bottles of water.

KPRC 2 has reached out to the Houston Police Department in regards to crowd control and traffic.
