Houston mother charged with murder after children hear gunshots, see her near father’s body

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A North Harris County woman faces murder charges after allegedly shooting and killing her husband late Saturday night.

Marisol Solis Zamora, 42, has been charged with murder following the fatal shooting of her husband, Miguel Zamora-Martinez.

BACKGROUND: Woman in custody after shooting, killing husband, HCSO said

The incident happened on Lone Oak near Shady Lane shortly before 11 p.m. on Saturday, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

According to court documents, Zamora-Martinez’s children, who were present at the scene, heard two gunshots and saw their mother holding a firearm close to their father’s body.

Solis Zamora remains in jail on a $100,000 bond, with her next court date scheduled for Oct. 29.

Crime scene investigators were seen examining a small SUV near the location of the shooting, though no details have been provided regarding a possible motive.
