Speeding SUV driver thrown from car after hitting curb, flipping in SE Houston

HOUSTON – A woman died Sunday night in southeast Houston after police say she lost control and crashed, causing her to be thrown from her vehicle.

It happened a little before 10:30 p.m. when the Houston PD says it was called to a crash on Dixie Drive off 610. Based on initial evidence, officers said the unidentified driver was speeding when she hit a curb, causing her SUV to flip before she was ejected.

The driver has only been identified as a middle-aged woman, who died upon impact. No one else was involved in the crash and she was the only one in her SUV.
