According to court documents, the investigation began on Sept. 23, when the Houston Police Department received a report regarding Bryson’s alleged attempt to sell her baby on Facebook.

Just days earlier, on Sept. 21, Bryson had reportedly reached out to a family connection, asking if she knew any families looking to adopt. During the conversation, Bryson allegedly disclosed that her baby would test positive for drugs and stated she was unable to keep him.

Bryson posted in a Facebook group aimed at connecting birth mothers with prospective adoptive parents, indicating that she was located in Houston but willing to travel if an arrangement could be made.

On Sept. 24, Bryson gave birth at a hospital with an acquaintance reportedly interested in adopting the child, present during the labor. Police allege that at the hospital, Bryson was waiting for “the highest bidder” to finalize the adoption arrangement.

Authorities were notified after social media users raised concerns about the legitimacy of the adoption. Court documents further allege that Bryson sought compensation in exchange for the baby, a claim backed by messages with prospective adoptive parents.
