Election Day freebies: What free things and deals are going on Tuesday

HOUSTON – Attention, Houston voters!

On Tuesday, November 5th, several area businesses are offering freebies on Election Day.

Piola Pizzeria: Visit one of Piola’s locations on Election Day, show off your “I Voted” sticker (or any proof that you’ve done your civic duty), and you’ll score a free Margherita pizza with the purchase of a beverage. Both Houston locations are offering this election-day perk for dine-in voters only.

IKEA: All customers get one free frozen yogurt at participating IKEA Swedish Bistros on election day. You must present either a printed or electronic version of the coupon linked in the IKEA wording at the front of this sentence.

Lyft: The company will offer a 50 percent discount (worth up to $10) on Election Day rides via their cars, bikes or scooters. From 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. in every time zone, preload the code ‘VOTE24′ on the Lyft app to cash in on the deal.

Uber: The company is offering discounted rides to polling sites. Uber is offering customers 50% off rides to their polling place (up to $10) when they use the new ‘Go Vote’ tile to book a ride. Uber Eats orders of at least $25 will also be 25 percent off from 6 p.m. local time on November 5 until 7 a.m. local time on November 6 (before taxes and fees and the max discount is $15).

Krispy Kreme: Participating shops will be offering a free glazed donut along with “I voted” stickers. According to the company’s website, there are only two Krispy Kreme locations in the Houston area. One in Pearland and one in Humble.

Christie’s Seafood & Steaks: This restaurant will be offering specials to diners all day long on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5. The selection will include seafood and burgers from $15.95, and select drinks for $9. Specifically, the restaurant will be offering its lunch menu pricing all day (open 11 am to 8 pm).

ARTECHOUSE: Escape the stress of Election Day with a special offer available until 10 p.m. on Nov. 5. Guests can enjoy $10 off general admission and indulge in XR cocktails from 3 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the all-day open bar—no admission ticket required to enter! Additionally, attendees can receive a $5 discount for the first-ever Houston holiday show, The Houston Holiday Spectacular. To take advantage of this offer, guests can use the code IVOTED when booking online or present their “I VOTED” sticker for on-site purchases.

Roma: This Election Day, Roma in Rice Village is raising a toast to voters by offering a complimentary glass of prosecco to guests who show their “I Voted” sticker. Join us to mark this important day with a little bubbly! 2347 University Boulevard, Rice University

Kazzan Ramen: Celebrate Election Day with a sweet treat. Swing by this new ramen spot in the Heights on November 5, show your “I Voted” sticker, and enjoy a free mochi ice cream! 191 Heights Blvd, Heights

MAVEN Coffee & Cocktails: This restaurant is encouraging voting by offering a free cup of drip coffee to anyone who turns in their “I Voted” sticker. The offer is available now through November 5 at the MAVEN at Thompson location, as well as the brand’s new, full-service neighborhood restaurant, MAVEN at Sawyer Yards.

Lazy Dog Restaurants is offering a free non-alcoholic beverage with any entrée purchase for guests with an “I Voted Sticker” on November 5.
