Houston police seek accused serial sex predator after 5 random attacks in apartments

HOUSTON – Authorities are searching for a man connected to a string of sexual assaults in Houston’s northside. Terrifyingly, authorities believe the attacks might be happening at random.

All five of the attacks have occurred at apartment complexes. Four of them occurred at properties on West Gulf Bank Rd. The most recent attack happened at a complex just south of that area, at a complex off of West Little York Rd.

Surveillance footage of the suspect (Houston Police Department)

The first attack took place on Aug. 14, and the latest attack happened at 7:30 a.m. Friday morning [Nov. 8].

The attacker gains access into women’s apartments through unlocked doors or by forcing his way in after knocking. In multiple instances, he has covered his face with a ski mask and been armed with a gun.

On Friday, KPRC 2′s Bryce Newberry spoke to an apartment resident who knew one of the victims. She said that the victim left her apartment briefly to take her child to a bus stop. When she returned, the man was inside. She believed he had been watching her.

The attacker was hiding behind her door, and he assaulted her when she came back inside. He left her residence about an hour later, and she went to a hospital.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for any information leading to the identity and arrest of the suspect in this terrifying attack. To report, you’re asked to call the HPD Special Victims Division at 713-308-1180 or speak anonymously with Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
