Montreal Dwayne Frye, the driver, refused to pull over, leading deputies on a chase that ended in a crash at E. Louetta Road and Aldine Westfield Road.
Frye fled the scene on foot and allegedly stole an unoccupied tow truck. During his flight, an armed bystander fired two rounds at Frye, striking the truck but missing the suspect.
Deputies quickly located the stolen tow truck and pursued it to the intersection of Grand Parkway and Rayford Road, where they safely stopped the vehicle.
Frye surrendered to deputies, assisted by K-9 officer “Mattress Mack,” and was taken into custody.
Constable Mark Herman confirmed Frye’s arrest in a statement:
“Montreal Frye was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Felony Evading, Felony Theft, and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. His bond and court information have not been set at this time.”
