Police said a 29-year-old man walked into the convenience store with an open bottle of liquor, when a security guard asked him to leave.

“Our shooting victim gets belligerent starts pushing on him, telling him things like he’s going to beat him up, saying he’s going to shoot him,” said Lt. Willkens.

Police said the man went outside, grabbed something from his SUV and went back into the store.

“He continues pushing on the security guard and threatening to shoot him and threatening to hurt him,” said Willkens.

HPD said the security guard then pulled out a gun and shot the man once in the jaw.

He was rushed to the hospital and is expected survive.

Investigators said they questioned the security guard and it’s unclear if he’ll face any charges.
