Two-year-old in critical condition after near-drowning in Windfern Lakes

A two-year-old is in critical condition after being found unresponsive in a northwest Houston body of water on Saturday.

It happened just after 2:30 p.m. near a home in the 10900 block of Windfern Lakes.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said emergency crews responded to the scene and began CPR while rushing the child to the hospital.

Deputies are investigating what led up to the incident.
