HOUSTON – A woman accused of shooting her boyfriend multiple times after luring him to a field on Houston’s South Side has been released from jail on bond.
Alexys Pinto, 23, is charged with aggravated assault.

The shooting happened on Sept. 5.
Court documents allege Pinto became angry with her boyfriend, Elvis Munoz, after a client had brought him a vehicle for him to work on. Pinto came outside and asked why the client was at the home, to which her boyfriend responded he was there because he had brought him a vehicle to work on.
At this point, the documents say Pinto became irate and tried to hit her boyfriend, to which the boyfriend grabbed her wrist and asked her to calm down. Pinto also allegedly kicked one of their dogs in a violent manner. She asked her boyfriend why he touched her and then asked him if there was a place he could recall where they had watched the sunset and insisted he take her there, specifically to SH-288 and Airport Blvd.
The documents say the two drove to the location and when her boyfriend pulled to the side of the road, Pinto immediately got out and started running away from the truck.
Pinto’s boyfriend got up and started calling for her and asking where she was going. She went down a hill and yelled at her boyfriend to “Come here.”
The documents allege her boyfriend followed her and when he caught up with her, Pinto started running again. When her boyfriend caught up to her again, she allegedly asked him to “teach me about deer hunting.”
The documents say her boyfriend asked her what she meant by that, while slightly facing away from her. At that point, the boyfriend told police he heard a gunshot and was shot in the chest.
In a state of disbelief, Pinto’s boyfriend thought to run away and when he turned toward Pinto she shot at him again. This time, he was hit in his left hand. He started to run away, clutching his chest, according to the documents.
He ended up slipping and falling and waited for her to shoot him again. The documents allege Pinto told him, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to do you like that, I didn’t shoot you in the right places!”
At this point, she allegedly tried to shoot him in the head, to which he used his hand to block the shot, according to the documents.
Pinto also allegedly called someone on the phone and told the person that her boyfriend had shot her. When he heard this, her boyfriend yelled, “No, I didn’t, no, I didn’t!”
The documents say he had asked her several times to call an ambulance. He asked her to call again and she responded, “I didn’t mean to do you like this, it was supposed to be quick.”
The documents say Pinto then helped him limp to his truck.
Victim recounts terrifying moments
Elvis Munoz spoke with KPRC 2 Reporter Corley Peel. He is the victim in this case and the now former boyfriend of Pinto. He talked about how their nearly three-year relationship ended with bullet scars all over his body. Munoz said he does not know why Pinto would shoot him.
“I have no idea. I’ve always worked hard to care for her as best as I could. Sometimes I wouldn’t even eat just for her to have a good plate of food. She’ll be jealous, controlling, she would isolate me from family and friends. She holds grudges,” said Munoz.
He says he did everything to convince Pinto to help him after she shot him.
“Told her that I loved her, and I still wanted to be with her, I wanted to still grow with her, have children with her and just basically trying to get into her head to convince her to help me. I was begging her, call the ambulance, call the ambulance,” he said.
He also said he would tell people he didn’t see who shot him in an effort to convince her to help him. Pinto then took Munoz to a convenience store where paramedics arrived.
Munoz went into detail about his injuries.
“I was hit on my left hand, completely broke the bone from my hand to my actual finger, can’t move my finger just from here and up,” he said.
He was also hit in the right hand; the hand he blocked his face with.
“Even after blocking it, she continued to pull the trigger multiple times and said that she was sorry, you aren’t supposed to be alive, I shot you in the complete wrong places,” Munoz said.
When detectives spoke with Pinto at the scene, records show she told them she “did not want to say any words that would get her in trouble and wanted a lawyer.” Pinto was not arrested. Court documents show she was arrested 15 days later on an unrelated disturbance call. Detectives learned she had an active felony warrant for the aggravated assault and took her into custody.
Pinto’s bond had originally been $75,000. However, a judge lowered her bond to $10,000. She has now posted bond and was released from jail.
Munoz worries for his safety now that Pinto is out on bond.
“She’s a danger to the community, to children, to family and friends and to me as well,” he said. “She’s not just a danger to me or my friends because she knows where several of my friends stay at home, but most importantly, my family. I have little nieces. My sister and nephew, My mom and my dad.”
Munoz and his family want to see her bond raised again.
“Put her back in jail where she belongs and for her to face the consequences for what she did because for her to just walk out with a pat on the wrist, it’s just not fair,” he said. “And for me having to be in surgery for several days, not even just seven days, four weeks, and after getting a gun pointed straight directly to my head, it’s just not fair.”
Pinto’s bond conditions don’t allow her to be near Munoz or his family. They are hoping she abides by those conditions. Pinto’s family did not respond when KPRC 2 reached out for comment. Her next court date is in January.
