The mid-40s are coming: Cooler air will continue to filter into the Houston area this week

Jet stream dip and cooler air

HOUSTON – Houston, all I can say is it feels really nice outside.

After yesterday’s rain and cool front, temperatures have fallen a bit and the humidity has lowered drastically.

There is actually another, stronger cold front which will come through this evening and drop temperatures even more for tomorrow.

Our highs tomorrow will top out in the upper-60s and lows will be in the low-50s.

The low temperatures in the morning will continue to drop as Southeast Texas takes a glance from a dip in the jet stream, which will allow for colder air to filter into the southeast United States.

While the coldest air will be off to the east, the dip in the jet will be enough to push our morning lows into the low and mid-40s by the latter half of this week.

Thursday morning, Houston has a forecasted low of 44 degrees, the coldest low temperature in eight months.

The last time we had a low temperature in the mid-40s was on March 19, when our low hit 43 degrees.

Enjoy the cool temperatures for a few days. The temperature looks to rebound next week with highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s.
