Police said the carjacking victim was able to track down the vehicle because he left his cell phone inside of it. He used another vehicle to locate the car.

When he confronted the suspected carjacker, investigators say there was a fight and gunfire erupted. Two people were shot but are expected to recover. A third vehicle believed to be tied to the original carjacking left the scene, according to police.

The carjacking victim returned to the convenience store location in another vehicle, where police said they found him in possession of narcotics.
