One person is dead and two others in the hospital after a driver crashed into a tree.

Houston – According to investigators the crash happened near 600 North Eldridge Parkway. Investigators said one female passenger, seated in the back of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other women, the driver and the front passenger, were transported to a local hospital. They are expected to survive according to officials. Investigators said that open containers of alcohol were found in the vehicle, and they believe that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. This is an ongoing investigation.
