Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene by Houston Fire Department personnel.
BACKGROUND: Seizure or sinister? Man’s death in north Houston under investigation
According to court documents, Wilson’s injuries were consistent with being struck by a machete, which was recovered at the scene. Surveillance footage obtained from a nearby convenience store showed a man, identified by witnesses as Lovos, chasing and striking Wilson approximately 25 times. Of those strikes, 15 occurred after Wilson was already immobilized.
Witnesses, including the store clerk, identified Lovos as a regular customer who lived in an apartment attached to the store.
Witnesses at the scene corroborated his involvement, and the machete, believed to be the murder weapon, was recovered with visible bloodstains.
The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences ruled Wilson’s death a homicide caused by multiple sharp-force injuries, including chop wounds to the head and neck.
Authorities revealed that Lovos claimed to have heard yelling and saw two men walking away from Wilson’s body. However, evidence and witness accounts contradict his statement.
Investigators are now focused on locating Lovos, who has not been seen since the attack.
Anyone with information on Lovos’ whereabouts is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
