Art Club is described as an innovative, first-of-its-kind cultural destination that combines emergent audio and visual art. However, at night, it will serve as an out-of-this-world nightclub!

It will open on Saturday, December 7, and features a two-story, nearly 30,000-square-foot venue inside POST’s X-atrium. Think of the entire experience as a blend of a museum and a nightclub.

As a museum, viewers will go through connected galleries, and take in thought-provoking and visually stunning works from artists who draw with lasers, paint with video, and sculpt with sound.

However, as a nightclub, DJs will activate the lounge and black box theater (which also doubles as galleries) featuring a full bar and cutting-edge a/v equipment, where DJs will have the opportunity to experiment with new ways of engaging audiences through hypnotic sights and sound.

It’s actually inspired by Day for Night, a music festival that was last held at POST in 2017 and in a news release, notes how Art Club looks to enhance Houston’s already robust cultural scene.

“With the exception of Houston, thriving downtowns of major cities are almost always anchored by a museum,” Kirby Liu, founder of Art Club and Director at POST said in a statement. “Art Club is a fusion of an art museum, performing arts venue, and entertainment facility. By melding these elements together, our goal is to establish a new museum and nightlife destination unlike anything the city has seen before.”
