HOUSTON – Investigators are piecing together what led up to a mother and her little girl’s death early Friday morning in west Houston, where the woman’s brother was also taken in for questioning.

Because Houston police are in the preliminary stages of their investigation, they weren’t able to share a lot of details. In trying to figure out what happened, KPRC 2’s Joel Eisenbaum spoke with the victim’s mother, who told him her son served about 12 years in prison and this upcoming December would have marked a year since he was released.
Joanna Fisher said she believes her son was given laced drugs at a nearby park that caused him to go into a rampage.
During a news conference early Friday morning, HPD Officer J. Bryant said around 2:45 a.m., a family member flagged officers down for a disturbance at an apartment complex on Richmond Avenue and Westminster Plaza Drive in Westchase.
When the police got to the apartment, Officer Bryant noted there was blood at the scene and one of the occupants, an unidentified man, came outside and had blood on him as well, so he was detained at the scene.
It’s unclear what charges (if any) he’ll face, but he was taken in for questioning, Officer Bryant confirmed.

While investigators were looking inside the apartment, they found an unidentified woman (possibly between 25 and 30 years old) and her daughter — believed to be between 2 and 4 years old.

Officer Bryant was unable to disclose the relationship between all three individuals during the initial news conference. However, later on, investigators confirmed to KPRC 2 reporter Brittany Jeffers the man is the mother’s brother, and the little girl’s uncle.
A motive behind the death has yet to be determined by officials, as of this writing, but it all will be part of HPD’s ongoing investigation.
