Suspect arrested in drive-by shooting that killed 19-year-old on Eastex Freeway feeder

A Houston man has been charged with murder in connection with a deadly July drive-by shooting that claimed the life of a 19-year-old off the Eastex Freeway.

Authorities have arrested 21-year-old Antonio Prejean for the fatal drive-by shooting of 19-year-old Jusnz Joseph along the Eastex Freeway feeder road.

Prejean is currently being held at the Harris County Jail on a $200,000 bond and is scheduled to next appear in court on Dec. 2.

What happened?

Harris County deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 2900 block of the Eastex Freeway northbound feeder road on July 22.

Joseph was found inside a burgundy Cadillac, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators learned that Joseph had stopped at an intersection when a gray or dark-colored SUV or crossover approached and opened fire, fatally wounding him. The suspect’s vehicle fled the scene.
