Woman accused of beating friend’s 4-year-old daughter, leaving her in critical condition in Harris County

A 30-year-old woman is facing serious charges after a 4-year-old girl was found with life-threatening injuries believed to be from ongoing abuse.

Tameria Barnett was arrested on Friday and charged with injury to a child.

Deputies say the girl, Londlyn Anthony, had been living with Barnett since September while her mother was incarcerated.

She was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday with life-threatening injuries. Doctors transferred her to Texas Children’s Hospital for urgent care, where she remains in critical condition.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez says the little girl may have been suffering daily abuse for months.

Barnett was also charged with assault causing bodily injury in 2018 after striking a woman with a closed fist.

Barnett made her $100,000 bond and her next court date is December 2.
