November 17: Fatal dispute in north Harris County
A family argument in north Harris County escalated into a deadly confrontation earlier this month. On November 17, deputies responded to a disturbance in the 18200 block of Chisholm Trail, where they found Jyzell Atlee, 21, suffering from severe stab wounds. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Investigators detained Jyzell’s younger brother, Keion Atlee, 17, at the scene. Initially charged with aggravated assault, the situation became worse after Jyzell succumbed to his injuries on November 23. The charge was subsequently upgraded to murder, and Keion remains in custody as the investigation continues.
Authorities are still piecing together details of the altercation, including why several people reportedly fled the scene before deputies arrived.

November 25: Deadly mistake in Tomball
Another family tragedy unfolded in Tomball around the same time. A group of teens had gathered in a barn for a night of drinking when a firearm in their possession turned the gathering into a nightmare.
Authorities say Rhyder Tettleton, 17, accidentally shot his younger brother, 16, while handling the weapon. Witnesses described the horrifying moment, with the younger brother crying out, “I think I’m gonna die. Help me! Help me!” before collapsing.
Rhyder initially denied involvement but later admitted to firing the gun, thinking it was unloaded. He also confessed to helping hide the firearms after the incident. He now faces second-degree manslaughter charges and is being held on a $50,000 bond.
November 29: Gruesome scene in west Houston
The string of sibling-related violence culminated in a chilling double homicide in West Houston. On November 29, police were alerted to a hostage situation at an apartment complex in the 12000 block of Richmond Avenue.
Inside the apartment, officers discovered a gruesome scene: a 28-year-old woman and her 2-year-old daughter had been fatally stabbed. Blood evidence at the scene pointed to Kendrick Rayvon Fisher, 29, the woman’s brother and the child’s uncle, who was found asleep on the couch.
Fisher was taken into custody and charged with capital murder. He remains in jail on a $200,000 bond, with court proceedings set to begin in early December.
