New mobile health center for moms, babies coming to Houston

A new mobile health center is rolling out in Houston, offering critical services to expectant mothers and infants, regardless of their ability to pay or immigration status.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, partnering with March of Dimes and Memorial Hermann Health System, is leading the launch of this first-of-its-kind initiative in the city.

The 30-foot mobile health unit is equipped with two clinical rooms and designed to provide critical health services for women throughout pregnancy. The mobile unit will prioritize access for women in underserved communities, offering care regardless of immigration status or ability to pay.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place today at 9 a.m. at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital. KPRC 2 will live stream the event.
