HOUSTON – The U.S. Department of Labor is working to distribute $4.3 million in back wages recovered by the Wage and Hour Division’s Houston District Office to more than 5,000 workers.

With the year winding down, the department is urging individuals to check their eligibility through the online Workers Owed Wages (WOW) tool.

The Wage and Hour Division enforces U.S. labor laws, ensuring workers receive their legally earned wages and other rights.

The WOW tool, available in both English and Spanish, allows users to quickly check if they are eligible to claim unpaid wages from a current or former employer.

Anyone who uses the WOW search tool can simply input their current or former employer’s name to learn if the division is holding wages on their behalf.
