Suspect arrested, accused in deadly August robbery turned shooting in W. Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A man has been arrested, accused in a deadly shooting which led to the death of a man in western Harris County back in August.

Michael Dwayne Thymes II is charged with capital murder for the robbery turned shooting which led to the death of Jose Isabel Alvarez on Aug. 24.

Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Cozumel Apartments on Sierra Blanca off Westpark Tollway. Deputies believed they were headed to where a person had been hit by a vehicle, instead they found Alvarez dead with gunshot wounds.

Court documents say Thymes shot Alvarez while either committing or attempting to commit a robbery.

Thymes was arrested on Monday. His bond has not been set yet.
