HOUSTON – Community members are planning to protest outside Houston ISD’s Pershing Middle School Wednesday morning for what they say are many issues since the state takeover.
KPRC 2 has continued to follow the sudden leadership changes at several schools within HISD.

Organizers say there are many reasons they’re not happy about what’s happening at Pershing, but one of the biggest issues they say is staffing.
The school has had three principals just this year. Four assistant principals have been reassigned and community organizers say many teachers are leaving.
Parents are also concerned about the changes in classrooms - even if Pershing is not a part of the district’s New Education System.
The protest is set for 7:45 a.m. KPRC 2 has reached out to HISD for comment, but has not received a response, as of this writing.
