HOUSTON – Anyone who has been a victim of identity theft knows it can easily happen, and a recent study found if you’re living in Texas the chances of getting exposed are higher.

Researchers at WalletHub recently compiled a report comparing data from identity thefts per capita to the average loss due to fraud by looking at all 50 states.

What they found is Texas made the top 10 list, as the 9th most vulnerable state for the most identity theft and fraud. Considering all the reports we’ve done on scams and title theft, it shouldn’t come as a surprise.

The Lone Star State was also said to have the highest number of identity-theft passport programs and one of the highest numbers of identity-theft complaints per capita.

Washington D.C., and Delaware meanwhile, were reportedly the most vulnerable states for fraud, while West Virginia was the very least.
