Woman hit, killed by car in north Houston after stepping out into roadway during apparent argument

HOUSTON – A woman died Tuesday night in north Houston after police said she argued with her girlfriend, stepped out into the roadway, and was hit by a car.

It happened around 10:30 p.m. on Greens Road just west of Imperial Valley, where investigators said the roadway was dark. That’s why officials believe the driver did not see the unidentified woman stepping out of the roadway before she was hit.

Police said the driver did not look impaired and stayed at the scene to call for help. They likely will not face charges.
