“This trend is not only disruptive—it can lead to serious legal consequences and potential danger for those involved,” the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office said.
The sheriff’s office explains this challenge could lead to homeowners believing a burglary is being attempted and lead to confrontations or other defensive actions which could put lives at risk.
They ask for parents to speak with their kids about the dangers in participating in such a social media challenge. They also ask residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious behavior to law enforcement.
“This is NOT a harmless prank—it’s reckless, unlawful, and could have life-altering consequences,” the sheriff’s office said.
