According to court documents, on Aug. 8 around 6 a.m., Reyes, who was driving a black Chevrolet Silverado, hit the victim who was using the crosswalk to get to the other side of the road.

Investigators with the Pasadena Police Department said they reviewed surveillance video, which showed the pedestrian had the right away and Reyes hitting him while making a left turn.

After hitting the wheelchair-bound man, court documents said video surveillance caught Reyes slowing down and stopping in the roadway for a few seconds before pulling into a private driveway where the man was found and his wheelchair.

A witness told officers he saw Reyes run over the victim and drag him.

Police said they used Flock cameras to find Reyes, who admitted to driving the Chevrolet Silverado and hitting a wheelchair. Police said Reyes admitted to returning to the scene of the crash with his girlfriend afterward, but said he was too scared to turn himself in.

Police also allegedly admitted to police that he altered his vehicle after the deadly crash, removing identifiable stickers from the back changing the tint of the vehicle, and taking off the lettering “Silverado” from the side of the vehicle.

As of Monday afternoon, Reyes has not been arrested.
