Houston’s Super Feast launches emergency toy drive amid soaring holiday demand

‘Super Feast’ spreads holiday cheer on Christmas Eve

HOUSTON – Facing an unprecedented surge in demand, Houston’s Super Feast, the nation’s largest feeding and toy distribution event, is issuing an urgent call for support through its Emergency Super Santa Toy & Food Drive.

The event will take place Monday, Dec. 16, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the George R. Brown Convention Center.

Organizers hope to collect enough toys, canned goods, and bikes to meet the needs of more than 25,000 families relying on the annual initiative.

Inflation, supply chain disruptions, and economic hardship have contributed to a record number of requests for toys and food baskets this holiday season. Super Feast organizers emphasize that the community’s support is critical to ensuring that no child in Houston wakes up without a gift on Christmas morning.

“Without community support, thousands of children could face a holiday without presents, adding to the financial and emotional stress on struggling families,” said a Super Feast representative.

How to Help:

  • What to donate: New, unwrapped toys, canned goods, and bicycles.
  • Where to donate: George R. Brown Convention Center, Dec. 16 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Super Feast aims to distribute 100,000 brand-new toys at its 46th Annual Christmas Eve event. Beyond spreading holiday cheer, organizers highlight the broader economic impact of the drive, which supports local businesses, boosts employment, and eases financial burdens for underserved households.

“This effort is about more than holiday joy — it’s about strengthening Houston’s economy while supporting our most vulnerable families,” organizers said.
