According to Houston police, the altercation began when Jiminez reportedly cut off Ruiz Diaz in traffic. In retaliation, authorities allege, Ruiz Diaz shot and killed Jiminez.

During a court hearing, it was revealed that Jiminez had taken a cell phone photo of Ruiz Diaz’s vehicle moments before the shooting.

Investigators used the photo to link Ruiz Diaz to two other road rage incidents, at least one of which also involved a firearm.

Ruiz Diaz, who works as a Lyft driver, now faces charges as law enforcement continues to investigate his alleged involvement in these additional incidents.
