The fire was reported around 4:43 a.m. Wednesday at a home in the 7800 block of Wickersham Lane.
According to the Houston Fire Department, a pickup truck in the driveway caught fire, spreading to a second vehicle, the home, and the garage.
Houston police said the deceased, found in the burned truck, appeared to have died from a gunshot wound to the head.
Investigators believe the man’s foot hit the gas pedal, causing the truck to ram into a vehicle inside the garage, igniting the fire.
No one inside the home was injured, and the homeowners told investigators they do not know the deceased, nor does the truck appear to be local to the area.
HFD’s Arson Division and Houston police are conducting a joint investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the fire and death.
