Brazoria County tornado: Woman killed, four others injured

Brazoria County Mayor Dan Davis said that one fatality has been confirmed due to a tornado and severe storms on Saturday.

The Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that a 48-year-old woman was killed after being thrown approximately 100 feet from her home near County Road 191. The family identified the woman as Jamie Brown.

Additionally, four others sustained injuries, and ten homes were damaged in the incident.

The storms left a trail of destruction, impacting several homes—at least ten properties have been damaged. Deputies say the hardest-hit area appears to be north of Road 191.

A line of severe thunderstorms moved across the Houston area, bringing heavy rain, lightning, thunder and tornado warnings.

The National Weather Service confirmed the tornado had touched down in Brazoria County on Saturday afternoon.

Brazoria County officials said there were multiple tornado touchdowns throughout Liverpool and Hill Crest area. Four injuries, all of which are non-critical, were also reported.

At least 10 homes were impacted.

Most storm damage can bee seen north of Road 191, officials said.

KPRC 2 received reports of several tornadoes being spotted in Southeast Texas.

Authorities have also confirmed a tornado touched down north of Katy and is moving toward Cypress and Bridgeland.

On Thursday, the National Weather Service confirmed five tornadoes touched down across the Houston area, rating from EF-0 to EF-1.
