PORTER, Texas – Days after a tornado tore through the Houston area on Saturday, the community of Porter is grappling with the aftermath.

Pickering Road remains one of the hardest-hit areas, with homes reduced to rubble, trees uprooted, and power still out for many residents.

Among the tragic stories emerging from the storm is that of a family whose house was completely destroyed. The mother remains in the ICU, while the father is recovering from 60 stitches on his face after being struck by debris.

“It all happened so quick. We barely had time to react,” resident Milton Vasquez said.
