A man is custody following a 6-hour long SWAT standoff

Authorities were called to a home in Northwest Harris County around 9:30 Friday evening.

Northwest Harris County – A man is in custody after a 6-hour long stand off with Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies and SWAT Team members in northwest Harris County.

Deputies said they were called to a home on Magnolia Lead Street and Harvest Dale Avenue around 9:30 on Friday night.

Deputies said that the woman told investigators that her 14-month-old child was inside of the home with the child’s father. She said that the father threatened to hurt the child if she called authorities.

The child was safely released to investigators at 2:20 in the morning and the man was taken into custody. He is now facing charges for felony assault and family violence.
